guys and gals
ORANGE calls each team that comes “the guys”. We have really enjoyed this month’s “guys”. We have had some really nice movie nights as well as, prayer and share times together. They have also helped out with English teaching and have really drawn a crowd. My English classes pretty much tripled this week.
One evening Orange was going to bed and she went to say good night to “the guys”. She ran into the living room and shouted, “I love you guys. And I love Jesus!”
My gals are really getting interested in books. They sit together and look at them now. Orange “reads” and the two main characters are always Orange and Hibiscus. (Orange and Hibi are, by the way, my girl’s internet names. Long story how they got them..) Sometimes it gets really quiet in the house and I have trouble finding Hibi. She is invariably curled up in some corner, behind a chair or under a table with a book. Or sprawled on the floor with her legs kicking in the air like a teenager, pouring over her story. Sometimes she “reads” too in her own little baby language.

Another day, another diaper
Here comes another wet diaper for the bathtub. My potty trainer is having a day off and is filling the bathtub with them. Otherwise she has been doing really well. I have to reflect on how much “mundane” is in a day even in another country. I was thinking about this the other day. I felt God spoke to my heart as I was listening to the “august rush” soundtrack. I felt impressed that my day is like a musical piece rehearsed and rehearsed. It is the same song, same verse. It is played over and over again until the day…might be just ONE TIME… that it is performed and makes a memory for me, for others. God gives us one new song to worship Him with and then lots of practice. Some exquisite pieces are long and difficult. Some take less repetition. But the everyday is the practice. It is my time to practice, recite, for the concert where He himself is the conductor. It is all worship.

Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.

Our family
Mr. Apple
Mr Apple is a great guy who is completely opposite me. He is the night owl and the steady one. He is the anchor, the planner, the one who never forgets special days. I had to name him Apple because he said he would never own one. gotta tease a little…but you should know that he did buy ME one and I love it!
Stormy April
ME, I mostly love rearranging the furniture, baking when I am procrastinating on something, and a little hobby quilting.
Orange blossom
My little girl who is really into princess movies, painting, and has a potential career as a basketball player.
Hibiscus
Hibi is sweet and pretty mellow now. (As long as someone is holding her) She is pleased with herself now that she can turn over.
